Idea of the Month Sour Cream Containers Yes, they have a funny name, but these unique containers are easy to assemble to make fun, inexpensive packages for all kinds of tiny candies and treats. Make them up for the class Halloween party at school, or tie a ribbon on the end to hang 'em on your Christmas tree as ornaments. There are so many possibilities!
Step 1: Decorate Your Cardstock
Start with 1/4 sheet of cardstock (4.25 x 5.5"). Use a lighter-weight cardstock, since heavier cardstocks will be harder to roll up. Decorate as desired with rubber stamps, markers, etc. I used markers here.
Step 2: Roll it Up!
Place adhesive along one of the short edges, then roll up the cardstock to form a tube, adhering the 2 short edges.
Step 3: Pinch the End
Apply adhesive all around the inside edge of one end of the tube. Press down on the end of the tube to flatten it out and to adhere the tube to itself.
Step 4: Fill it and Flatten it!
At this point you can fill your container with candy or a tiny treat. Repeat Step 3 on the other end of the tube, except flatten the end of the roll in the other direction as shown. If desired, punch a hole in one end and tie on a ribbon for hanging. Cute!
