Making Images Sparkle with Adhesive Sheets

Adhesive sheets are a fun product from Close To My Heart.  Adhesive sheets are basically sheets of glue sandwiched between two removable, protective paper layers.  Make your own stickers, or use the following technique to add a sparkle to any stamped design.  (Z262 Adhesive Sheets, 10 sheets  8.5 x 5.5"). 

In the card below, I have use the The Beauty of Christmas stamp set (this was a former Stamp of the Month that is now in the catalog).   I thought the scene would look beautiful with glitter over it, so I have used it in my card as shown below.  I really wish the glitter showed up better in the photo... it is so shimmery in real life!

Step 1:  Stamp up Your Image

I copied the carriage scene from our November 2002 SOM brochure to use as the focal point for this card.  The design has been stamped and sponged, and details were added with Memory Pencils.  The overall card design I chose is the Bowtie Pattern in our Card Confidence Program.  This program makes it so easy to create beautiful cards in many different sizes!  The Bowtie Pattern is for a 5x7" card.

Step 2:  Sparkle Your Image

To sparkle the image, start by cutting a piece of Adhesive Sheet to size.  I cut mine very slightly smaller than the size of my carriage scene to make it easier to adhere.  Peel off the protective paper on ONE side of the adhesive only, and stick the adhesive over your stamped image (yes, it looks like you are covering it up at this point).   Then, peel off the other piece of protective paper to reveal your image.  It will be covered with a thin, clear sheet of sticky adhesive.  Now just sprinkle prisma glitter over the entire image and shake off the excess... beautiful!  Finally, finish stamping the card and layer your image as desired.
