Doorhanger Project #1: Bath Bead Holder

There must be a million ways to use doorhangers!  Well, ok, maybe I'm exaggerating just a bit.   But these fun shapes can be stamped, decorated and folded to make a wide variety of inexpensive party favors, gifts, and announcements.  Here's one that my customers love: a doorhanger that is stamped and folded to hold a scoopful of fragrant bath beads.

Creating the Doorhanger:

Close To My Heart Doorhanger Project #1: Bath Bead Holder, Step 1

Doorhangers come just like this, so all you have to do is stamp it as desired.  In the photo of the final project (above), I've stamped it randomly with  our Forever Roses set using Heather and Seafoam Exclusive Inks TM Stamp Pads.  For the background, I didn't even bother to color them in!

Then, measure from the bottom of the doorhanger and score it on the back at 3.25" and again at 3.75".  Score all the way across, as shown in the photo.

Next, simply fold on the score lines.  Insert a small bag filled with a scoop of bath beads.  Staple once towards the top of the doorhanger (just above the opening), going through all layers.

To hide the staple, I stamped a rose and leaves in black ink on a scrap of cardstock.  I outlined the image using Heather and Seafoam Exclusive Inks TM markers, and then blended the color with a blending Pen.  (Note:  use a waterproof black ink, such as our black Close To My Heart® Archival stamp pad, to avoid smearing the black ink into the flower).  Cut out the flower and glue it over the staple.  For the most professional look, coordinate your ink colors with the color of your bath beads.  Beautiful!
