August 2005 Idea of the Month Reverse Chalk Popping
This technique is so easy to do, yet I love the results!
Supplies: Stamps of your choice ( I used C1061 Frightnin' Fun set) Close To My Heart TM Black and Autumn Terracotta Cardstocks Close To My Heart TM Black Background/Texture Paper
Versamark TM Ink Pad Autumn Chalks Autumn Harvest Fibers Autumn Terracotta My Accents TM
Step 1: Prepare the Cardstock Chalk popping looks best on dark-colored cardstocks, so, I used black. Cut your dark cardstock to the desired size. Using a chalk applicator, cotton swab, etc, rub on various colors of chalk to cover the entire surface. See photo below:
Step 2: Stamp Using your stamps and the Versamark TM ink pad, stamp a design onto the cardstock. As you stamp, the inked stamp will remove the chalk from the paper. Be sure to clean your stamp each time, before stamping the next image. Very easy!
Step 3: Assemble and Embellish Finish your project and embellish as desired. I did additional chalking on the pumpkin to add shadows and details.
