Idea of the Month Fun with the Scrapbook Kids Templates
Scrapbook Kids templates are a great addition to any card or layout. You can expand your possibilities by using them along with other people and animal stamps. You can fit the "heads" from other stamps very nicely on top of the Scrapbook Kids body by following the instructions below. What's more, you can use this technique to replace the "faces" on your heads with any of the other facial expressions found in our Scrapbook Kids Faces and Hands stamp set.
Step 1: Add a New "head" to your Scrapbook Kids Body Choose a "head" from another stamp that you'd like to use. We are going to turn this one into a little girl dressed up in a cow costume. To stamp the head without her face, there a couple ways you can do it. Personally, I hold the stamp upside down in one hand and my ink pad upside down in the other hand. Then I tap the corner of the ink pad all over the stamp, avoiding the facial features. It's pretty close work, but it can be done. OR, you can simply ink up the entire head and carefully wipe off the eyes, nose and mouth. I used a barely damp cotton swab, and it worked very well. Stamp the head onto white cardstock. Finally, lay the Scrapbook Kids template over your stamped head and trace the rest of the body.
Step 2: Add a New "Face" Choose a face from the Scrapbook Kids Faces and Hands set, or another set, and stamp it on your head. Here I used a "cow" face from another (now retired) set. This can be easily "eye-balled" to line it up, or you can use a Place-A-Stamp tool if you wish for more accurate placement if you are not using a My Acrylix TM see-through stamp. Color the design as desired and cut out your Scrapbook Kid.
Step 3: Dress it Up! Dress up your Scrapbook Kid as desired. I traced the clown suit from the Scrapbook Kids Costume template onto black background/texture paper (using the cow pattern, of course!), and glued it on as a cow costume.
