Idea of the Month Box-Top Card
This month we're going to make a fun but simple card, the Box-Top Card. This card is so easy you won't believe it: Step 1
Begin with 2 strips of cardstock that are the same size. You can cut the cardstock any size you wish, but the length of the cardstock should be 2 times the width. (I usually use 2 pieces of 4" x 8" cardstock). The pieces can be the same color, though it's fun to use 2 different colors, as you'll see. Glue the 2 pieces together as shown above, like a cross. You may find it helpful to measure and lightly draw pencil lines so that the pieces are centered on each other. Step 2
Fold in each flap as shown. Optional: corner round all of the corners. (I think this adds a very nice touch to the card). Step 3
Fold the flaps in and tuck just as you would do if you were closing a box. Simple, huh? Stamp the flaps as desired and you are done! You can stamp only 2 flaps, or all 4, or stamp a message on 2 diagonal flaps plus an image on the other 2 flaps, etc. Use your imagination! Don't forget to stamp the inside, too, so there's a surprise when they open the card!
