Idea of the Month Stationery Folder #2
Well, I promised you more great ideas for packaging your beautiful hand-made cards and envelopes, so here's another variation on stationery folders. This one looks very elegant with it's beautiful ribbon accent. I hope you enjoy it! Step 1
Begin with a sheet of 12x12" cardstock. We have 60 colors to choose from in our exclusive Close To My Heart® line of matching cardstocks, patterned papers, inks and markers! Fold in half, unfold, and fold in half the other direction to crease cardstock as shown above. Step 2
Use paper trimmer to cut cardstock as shown (simply cut from one fold line to the next so you are cutting off a triangle). Step 3
Refold cardstock into quarters along existing fold lines: fold the triangular bottom UP, then fold over from LEFT to RIGHT. This orientation is important so that you punch the hole through the correct folds! Using a hole punch, punch hole about half-way into left edge through all layers as shown. Step 4
Now all you have to do is thread the ribbon! The easiest way to do this is to set the stationery folder on top of a length of ribbon. Pull the ribbon up around the center fold (like you were going to tie a package) but instead of tying a bow, thread each end down through the hole and towards the outside again. (The photo shows the folder with one end of the ribbon having been threaded back through to the outside). Step 5
Close the folder and tie a bow on the outside as shown. Decorate the cover as desired for gift-giving!
